If the husband is the head, it automatically makes him the main responsible person for everything that is going on in his household.

Father Absence and Youth Incarceration (imprisonment or confinement)

Informed Sunday, June 21, 2020 at 08:26:10 AM

The new study tested whether risk factors of youth incarceration (imprisonment or confinement) concentrated in father‐absent households explained the apparent effects of father absence.
Results from the longitudinal event‐history analysis showed that although a sizable portion of the risk that appeared to be due to father absence could actually be attributed to other factors, such as teen motherhood, low parent education, racial inequalities, and poverty, adolescents in father‐absent households still faced elevated incarceration risks.

The adolescents who faced the highest incarceration risks, however, were those in stepparent families, including father–stepmother families. Coresidential grandparents may help attenuate this risk, although remarriage and residential instability increased it.

School Dropouts and fatherless

Informed Sunday, June 21, 2020 at 06:53:25 AM

Children are four-times more likely to be poor if the father is not around. And we know that poverty is heavily associated with academic success. Fatherless kids are also twice as likely to drop out.

Dropping out of school, growing up fatherless and incarceration(imprisonment) appear to be connected. One study shows that seven out of 10 high school dropouts are fatherless.

Father Absence, Father Deficit, Father Hunger

Informed Sunday, June 21, 2020 at 06:02:23 AM

The vital importance of paternal presence in children’s lives.

Children
consistently report feeling abandoned (neglected) when their fathers are not involved in their lives, struggling with their emotions and episodic bouts of self-loathing (hatred of oneself).

Father-absent children are consistently overrepresented on a wide range of mental health problems, particularly anxiety, depression, and suicide.

71 percent of high school dropouts are fatherless; fatherless children have more trouble academically, scoring poorly on tests of reading, mathematics, and thinking skills; children from father-absent homes are more likely to play truant from school, more likely to be excluded from school, more likely to leave school at age 16, and less likely to attain academic and professional qualifications in adulthood.

85 percent of youth in prison have an absent father; fatherless children are more likely to offend and go to jail as adults.

Fatherless children are more likely to die as children, and live an average of four years less over the life span.

As adults, fatherless children are more likely to experience unemployment, have low incomes, remain on social assistance, and experience homelessness.

Fatherless children are more likely to smoke, drink alcohol, and abuse drugs in childhood and adulthood.

The coronavirus pandemic is hard for everyone, but research shows that new moms may be particularly vulnerable to anxiety and depression from the pandemic.
One in seven new moms struggle with anxiety and depression during the perinatal period, but according to a new study

The study, which surveyed 900 women (520 were pregnant and 380 had given birth in the past year), found that the likelihood of maternal depression and anxiety has substantially increased during this health crisis.

Prior to to the pandemic 29% of those women experienced moderate to high anxiety symptoms, and 15% experienced depressive symptoms.

But during the pandemic, those numbers almost tripled, with 72% saying they experienced anxiety and 41% said they experienced depression.

We all are prone to having this nasty spirit called entitlement: “I deserve to be loved! I deserve to be treated this way and that way!
